THE BANALITY OF EVIL

A new show based on the Hannah Arendt’s controversial idea “The Banality of Evil” by Meta-Phys Ed.

The term “The Banality of Evil” was coined by the influential German-Jewish Political Philosopher Hannah Arendt’s in her controversial 1963 book Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil covering the show trial of Adolf Eichmann, Nazi architect of the final solution.

THE BANALITY OF EVIL brings Meta-Phys Ed.’s  genre-bending ruckus to a noir mystery about how everyday people become war criminals.

In this project, Romeo is working with the Meta-Phys Ed. company as an actor and devisor to build and perform the show.

Directed by Jesse Freedman, with music composed by Avi Amon,

March 21 - April 6 2024 at The Brick Theatre

Will Wilson Saves the World

Will Wilson Saves the World opens with the pivotal thematic conflict: In the year 2005, a hospitalized 80-year-old man recalls his greatest personal tragedy: losing his dearest childhood friend, Victor. His beloved granddaughter Cherylynn has become a lawyer for the US Department of Justice, hunting and prosecuting escaped Nazi war criminals. Her passionate pursuit includes seeking justice for the escaped Nazi SS officer Armand Lang, who shot her Grandfather and killed Victor more than 60 years ago. As her (and her coworkers’) stories unfold, they thematically intersect with Will’s past (1920’s-present).

In Will Wilson Saves the World, Romeo is singing, scatting, and shimmying in the featured role of the Lounge Singer, as well as covering the role of Cherylynn.

Choreography by Arthur Cuadros, direction by Kristy Thomas, music direction by George Luton, written by Lyndsey Chance/Michelle Lugo.

March 26 with Emerging Artists Theatre festival.

Michael the Musical:

Moulin Rouge meets Friends at this turn-of-the-century story of friendship, overcoming all obstacles. Nobody dies. Michael and Alma are opposites in almost everything except one thing: their love of New York City. Though they are both stubborn in their snobbish dislike of each other, there are invisible ties that bind them. Their hate gets tested as they end up as roommates in a Brooklyn railroad apartment where they forge their friendship despite themselves. They are surrounded by a colorful cast of characters and lots and lots of good music.

In this project, Romeo is singing ultra-tight harmonies in a vocal trio of Muses as well as solo selections, and creating original choreography.

Written and directed by Alisa Bruza, music by Michael Egbert and Christopher Koch, music direction by Kaeli Heffner

October 11, 15, and 17 at New York Theater Festival (LATEA Theater)
